Första delen av en dag i Ryssland - The first part of a day in Russia

Vi började dagen med att jobba. Land för land gick vi igenom. Vilka mål har vi för vårt arbete? Lever vi upp till dem? Vilka förutsättningar har vi? Vad behöver vi göra? Vad ska vi göra????
En slutsats är att vi jobbar ganska bra i alla länder. Vi behöver bli bättre på att efterleva den grafiska profilen – i alla all i Finland och Estland. Vi måste göra bra saker för att få bra PR. Några exempel på bra saker som vi kan göra är att berätta om Shelterbox, arrangera Rotary Fun Days och RYLA.

Vi pratade om sociala medier och tidningsartiklar och en hel massa annat.

Dessutom har vi fått veta mer om Vadims E-klubb, Rotary Norden som är den tidning som Kim har börjat jobba med, och en hel massa annat.

När klockan var ett var vi redo för att bege oss ut på sightseeing.

Det blev en taxiresa till Vinterpalatset och Emeritaget som är ett gigantiskt konstmuseum. På det stora fina torget utanför palatset träffade vi Nathalia som är president för St Petersburgs äldsta Rotaryklubb. En väldigt trevlig kvinna som började med att visa oss 12 st parkbänkar som Rotary sponsrat och som just satts ut i parken intill palatset. Vi frös rejält om både hände och fötter eftersom temperaturen var ungefär -25.

Men självklart var det kul att gå runt och kika på bänkarna. Folk stannade till och vi fotograferade och fotograferades…

Sedan gick vi till Emeritaget. Efter att ha betalat entréavgiften gick vi till cafeet och drack en kopp värmande kaffe innan vi tog en snabbtur på 50 minuter runt museet. Rembrandt och Da Vinci var ett par av de konstnärer vars konst hängde på väggarna här inne . Jag tror aldrig att jag har sett så mycket guld samtidigt… och ornament… Väldigt vackert!

Vi återsamlades så småningom i entrén för att gå till nästa ställe. 

We started the day by working. We talked about country after country in our zone. We discussed the  goals for our work. Do we fulfil them? What conditions do we have? What do we do? What should we do????

One conclusion is that we work pretty well in all countries. We need to become better at complying with the graphic profile - at least in Finland and Estonia. We must do good things for getting good PR. Some examples of good things we can do is tell you about ShelterBox, arranging Rotary Fun Days and RYLA.

We talked about social media and newspaper articles and a whole lot more.

Moreover, we have learned more about Vadims E-club, the Rotary Norden is the newspaper that Kim has begun to work with, and a whole lot more.

At one a clock we were ready to head out sightseeing.

First we took a taxi to the Winter Palace and the Hermitage which is a gigantic art museum. On the great square outside the palace we met Nathalia who is the president of St. Petersburg's oldest Rotary Club. A very nice woman who began by showing us 12 st park benches Rotary sponsored and which has just been put out in the park next to the palace. It was VERY cold outside (-25 degrees) and our feet and hands were very cold. But of course it was fun to walk around and look at the benches. People stopped and took pictures of us, and of course we took a lot of pictures too.

Then we went to the Hermitage. After paying the entrance fee we went to the cafe and had a cup of hot coffee before we took a quick tour of 50 minutes around the museum. Rembrandt and Da Vinci was a few of the artists whose art hung on the walls in here. I do not think I've seen so much gold at the same time ... and ornaments ... Very beautiful!

Finally we gathered again in the entrance hall to go to the next place.
